House cleaning for Dog Owners
Baking soda is a simple and cost-effective method to ensure your carpets smell fresh.
- Sprinkle a tiny amount of it on the carpet, and let it rest for a while; after that, simply vacuum it.
Cleanse your home with baking soda. It's your own air freshener.
- Combine 1/4 cup baking powder together with water inside a bottle, and shake vigorously. (You could add cinnamon, vanilla extract, or essential oils, too.) Baking soda is able to absorb the pet's (or another unpleasant) smell. Vinegar spraying in the air also removes the smell of dogs.
Set a softener fabric sheet close to your pet's most loved places.
- Decided to keep your pet away from the furniture? But then he/she found his/her preferred spot to lie in the home. Some of them is just next to the sofa. You can put a fabric softener sheet underneath the cushion, next to the place he/she lies to fight the dog odor. Also, you can give your pet his/her own blanket to lay on but make sure to wash it every week.
Place mats inside and outside the door to prevent dirt that is able to enter the home.
- There's more inside and outside the house, and you can make your pet a habit of cleaning his/her paws on the door. It is also suggested to place mats on doors' outside and inside to stop dirt that is able to enter the home.
Take care to clean up spills as soon as they occur to ensure that your dog does not think that this spot is her or his toilet.
- Avoid cleaning products that contain ammonia because they smell like urine for dogs. A homemade cleaning solution you can use to clean up accidents with pets is quite simple to prepare. It is made by mixing 1 one quart of water that is hot, 1 tablespoon of dishwashing soap, and one teaspoon of white vinegar. Blot the area using towels, then wet it with the homemade cleaner, and allow it to rest for about 15 mins prior to wiping it off again.
Always put a mat under their food bowls to assist with cleaning up and keep the majority of food and water debris off your floor.
Vacuum often.
- You should increase your frequency of vacuuming by two times a week. It's not a thorough cleansing type of vacuuming but can lessen the fur. It's not much of a concern for your pet; however, when he/she gets bigger, it will become a problem.
Maintaining a clean home with pets isn't necessarily more difficult. In addition, it's not difficult; however, it requires different routines. A bit of training for you and your dog (and children!) can help you succeed in keeping your home clean.
